In works of fiction, books   and films mainly is not uncommon for the viewer or reader feel some sympathy for the criminal. Never what we want as son but we produce a special kind of attraction or fascination. Maybe because over a period of time is a free spirit, live   your way, liberating all its passions and getting away with it. The flip side is that of tragedy, the most precipitous fall that eventually arrives in the form of ruin, jail or death.
This halo of attraction also occurs in real life. We know that the guy in a bastard and never want to deal with him, but in the distance we arouse interest, even morbid. Knowing the daily life of a gangster, see him in private, with theirs, approach for a moment his most personal and human, is one of the purposes of " A Very British Gangster ". The director Donald MacIntyre continues his camera to Dominic Noonan perhaps the main boss of Manchester and of course one of the most dangerous in the UK.The degree of complicity which reaches the editor with a gangster is remarkable. The latter opens his house wide to cameras, known to his family, some members of his clan and surprisingly mobster Dominic makes some very personal revelations. The scene where he talks about his sexual orientation and how abused him and later took revenge (" I did a lot of harm ") is creepy. Chilling and nauseating is the conversation between the boss and his brother, a renowned hired murderer, joking about his crimes and Murders.

Noonan at times we want to make your life as someone powerful and successful, but as it passes the footage can not help thinking that this is a self-imposed glamor mask and that  we are facing another victim of his own life and circumstances. Dom is slave of education and environment, to survive had no choice but to become what it is. Or at least, that was the most affordable and fast way.
A Very British Gangster "no longer a walk in the dark and unhealthy for our society and there seems no escape. But there's always a silver lining, as it suggests the child's own Sun , especially in the last minutes of footage. I want, but do not want to be like him.

A VERY BRITISH GANGSTER FILM TRAILER

A VERY BRITISH GANGSTER is an all access film inside one of Britain’s most dangerous crime families.
For the first time, a gang of contemporary criminals open their lives to reveal a brutal world and an underclass which relies upon gangsters for justice, rather than police.
The film follows the trials and tribulations of Dominic Noonan over three years, as he lurches from criminal trial to criminal trial. Dominic, head of the Noonan crime dynasty, a second generation family of Irish stock, legally changed his last name to Lattlay Fottfoy, an acronym for the family motto.
