Gangster Domenyk Noonan has walked free from prison – and now plans to sue police over the arrest that put him behind bars.
Noonan has been freed from Strangeways jail after the Parole Board ruled the 47-year-old poses little risk to the public.
He was arrested at the height of the Manchester riots last August – with the arrest triggering his recall to prison for breaching the terms of his early release for a nine-and-half year jail sentence imposed in 2005 for possession of a gun.
Although a charge of handling stolen goods against him was later dropped, Noonan was held behind bars until yesterday.
Noonan, speaking to the M.E.N. after his release, said: "I’m going to sue them for wrongful arrest, assault, false imprisonment and perverting the course of justice.
"I’ve lost my business. I’m in total rent arrears and 42 people have been put out of their jobs because of it."
Noonan, originally from Moston and who changed his name to Lattlay-Fottfoy, will remain on licence
